A Fleur de St. Louis Sunday

Happy Sunday, readers! I've mentioned on the blog before that this journey has taught me that you can feel like you are on vacation in your own city. On this June Sunday, my boyfriend Tony and I discovered more of the beauty St. Louis has to offer through good coffee, good scenery, good shopping, and good food (and beer). If you are a fellow St. Louisan, I hope you will find some local inspiration here. If you are reading from another city, maybe you will feel inspired to go discover new beauty in your hometown! Everywhere I go, I have my eye out for the fleur de lis. Today was no exception. Enjoy a "fleur de lis" recap of our St. Louis Sunday.

Our first stop today was the Kaldi's Coffee location in City Garden. We enjoyed pour overs of Colombian and Ethiopian coffees on the tree lined patio surrounded by sculpture, serene sounding water features, and STL skyscrapers. After coffee, we wandered through the new Keiner Plaza complete with renovated fountain, a bright & unique playground area, and plenty of seating. My favorite feature is the gravel seating area with café style tables and chairs under strings of twinkling lights. It reminds me of something you would see in a Parisian garden. :)

Next stop, the Grand Market, a fashion, flowers + folk festival filled with local, creative vendors. If you've been following me, you know I've been on a journey to learn more about healthy beauty.  I was incredibly excited to discover Blissoma organic skincare (made locally in small batches at 2730 LaSalle St.) and connect with Julie, Blissoma founder and herbal chemist. Connecting with people doing incredible things in my community has been another result of building Fleur de St. Louis. I picked up some Peace Evening Calming Crème and can't wait to apply a little peace before bed this evening.

Final stop, lunch and drinks at Charleville, a local microbrewery based in St. Genevieve, MO (which also happens to be part of Missouri's historic French Creole Corridor - more to come on this). A delicious meal complete with a Box of Chocolate and a house made root beer provided a sweet end to an already sweet Sunday.
